Capitol Protest in Opposition to SB 861 (the bill to allow breed specific
legislation in California).

Date: August 15, 2005 (Monday) at the State Capitol Building in downtown Sacramento, CA.

Time: starting at 8 a.m. and continuing as needed, but probably until about noon or 1 p.m.

Purpose: To greet the politicians, aides and capitol workers as they go into and out of the capitol on business and let them know we oppose SB 861.

Who may attend: Any person opposed to SB 861. We need a minimum of 300 RSVPs to hold this event. If we do NOT get the minimum number of RSVPs, this event will be CANCELLED. We believe it would be more damaging to show up with a small group than to not show up at all.

To RSVP, join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/capitolprotest (your membership is your RSVP). This group will only exist for the protest and it will be deleted after the protest. This list will contain all the organizational information for the protest, and in the even the protest is cancelled, that information will be posted to the list.

If you cannot join for some reason, please email chakorescue@gmail.com to RSVP.  Keep tuned to http://www.pitbull.us for cancellation information or to find out more about SB 861.

Please show up without your dog UNLESS your dog is very well-behaved, calm, polite, and friendly toward people and animals.
