Investigators in Larimer County are searching for the man who tried
to take the 9-year-old boy from his backyard in the 3000 block of West
Laporte Avenue.
At around 7:30 p.m. the boy's father, Wayne Meyers, heard the family
pit bull barking loudly while he was working on his car in the front
yard.
Meyers says he ran to the backyard where his sons were playing.
He told 9NEWS, "He grabbed (my son) by the mouth, I guess - the
mouth and shoulder and kind of bent him over the fence. He
grabbed (my son) by the side, picked him up by the shoulders.
There's marks on his shoulders, marks on his wrist."
Meyers says their dog scared the man off. By the time he got
to the backyard, the perpetrator was fleeing but he was able to catch a
glimpse of him.
Police worked with Meyers and his son to make the composite drawing shown here.
Officials canvassed the neighborhood Monday night and continued the
search Tuesday, looking specifically for registered sex offenders in
the area.
The Sheriff's Office says the suspect is a white male in his mid 30s
balding with brown hair around his ears. He was wearing a blue t-shirt
and blue-jean shorts. He is also believed to have a thin moustache.
Anyone with information should call the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
